Commemoration of Professor Anne Goodman – Remembered One Year Later

Submitted by Issa Kirarira, Chairman, InterChange Uganda

Today, the 1st of August, marks one year from when Professor Anne Goodman passed on. In Uganda, her death was celebrated in Lutego, Mukono, where trees were planted in her memory on August 3rd, 2013.  On November 16th, 2013, two more trees were planted while celebrating an International Day of Tolerance in her memory. Among the trees that were planted, only one failed to grow, while the rest have grown steadily.

Below you will find a pictorial of our August 1st, 2014 event in commemoration of Professor Anne Goodman.

  1. Thanks members of InterChange 4peace for doing a lot in transforming society. Your intervention in domestic violence and conflict has led my area to learn many lessons that have helped me as an individual. It was a pity that you lost a great lady Anne Goodman who loved all and traversed the world looking for patterns to promote peace. Please, I would be grateful if you involve me in august while remembering her life again. I now work in Mbobo central Uganda and am willing to join you wherever you will be celebrating it this year. Thanks Henry and Nasrah for the good work.
Let us be peaceful, amorous, and compassionate from an individual lever to an international level if we are to make Anne Goodman rest in peace.
