He studied physics at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, USA, and obtained his qualification as a doctor in Groningen, The Netherlands. Since 1988 he has been intensively working with the physical and mental health difficulties of asylum seekers, refugees, and the victims of war, first with various organizations in The Netherlands and, since 1995, with the Coalition for Work with Psychotrauma and Peace (CWWPP) which Charles assisted in founding.\u00a0 He lives and works in Vukovar, Croatia. He has been involved with InterChange since its inception and is an active Board member.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A. Kanda, <\/strong>MBBCh\u00a0was born in the Congo (DRC), where he completed his medical studies in 1989 and underwent a four-year postgraduate training in Neuro-Psychiatry from 1990 to 1994. He has been working in Psychiatry for about 20 years. While working in South Africa, he obtained a Diploma in Mental Health from the College of Medicine of South Africa, Associate and Diplomate Certificates from UNISA\/ Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy, and an Honours in Anthropology from UNISA.
